Il Cardo
Terraces and small squares, a street reminiscent of characteristic Italian villages. This is how the territories, the regions and their specialties, the world of research, associations and historic companies presented themselves to the Expo public.
The 4 temporary buildings of Cardo were designed with a “dry” structural system to be “dismantled” at the end of the event and relocated to another location.
The concept of Nemesi studio involved the creation of buildings made up of volumes juxtaposed with small squares, terraces and porticoed paths.
The windows were redesigned by Soglianese Costruzioni, creating a technical solution
that allowed the external glass walls and the roofs of all 4 cardos to be built in two months. Profiles in painted steel and extra-clear laminated glass, glass assembled together only with transparent silicone to give maximum transparency.
