For the Urban Center in Bologna, designed by architect Mario Cucinella (MCA), Soglianese Costruzioni created the iconic structures known as “Le Gocce,” characterized by a sophisticated double-skin system.
The external envelope consists of a continuous surface in curved laminated glass, while the inner layer is made up of a series of vertical tubes in transparent plexiglass. This architectural solution is enhanced by an integrated LED lighting system at the base of each cylinder, creating a dynamic and vibrant light effect.
The project, which also includes glass flooring and interior finishes, is a perfect example of how expertise in glass bending and technological integration can transform a functional element into a striking and evocative urban landmark.
